About the Job:

Kent is looking for an experienced Lead Site Planner to be based in Dahej, India

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Provide schedule oversight, progress assurance, and forward-looking planning insights to the bp team, enabling early risk detection, informed decisions, and readiness of client-controlled interfaces, without taking responsibility for contractor planning or directing execution.
  • Assist the project Telecom lead as required with management tasks and project control functions, planning and scheduling.
  • Site pre-commissioning activities.
  • In scope: Progress validation, independent schedule analysis, critical path/float monitoring, lookahead & workfront readiness, bp resource forecasting (e.g., QA), interface/dependency tracking, reporting, and challenge of contractor planning/updates.

Key Responsibilities

A) Progress Assurance & Data Integrity

  • Validate the Rules of Credit used on the project to ensure they are appropriate to fabrication.
  • Support construction team in progress using field walks, progress quantity reports, and contractor daily reports.
  • Reported productivity (throughput if productivity is not available); flag material variances to the bp team.

 B) Schedule Analytics & Critical Path Insight

  • Maintain oversight (shadow) P6 view or analytics model populated with contractor schedule extracts.
  • Track critical path, near-critical chains, and float erosion; produce what-changed summaries after updates.
  • Quantify schedule variance and trend curves (SV, milestones slip, earned-quantity vs planned, plan reliability).
  • Identify early warning signals (out-of-sequence work, logic gaps, calendar misuse, unrealistic durations).

C) Lookahead & Workfront Readiness

  • Run 2-week and 6-week lookaheads.
  • Support construction with the Constraints/Readiness Log as required

 D) Interface & Dependencies (incl. items outside contractor schedule)

  • Monitor cross-discipline dependencies: design deliverables, procurement/MR/PO/expediting, NCR rework, field changes, utilities, vendor presence, inspection/test plans.

E) Client (bp) Resource Forecasting (Quality Inspectors & Others)

  • Convert lookahead activities and ITP hold points into a QA inspection demand profile by skill/shift/hours.
  • Identify under/over-resourcing against the forecast; propose levelling and prioritization options to the client QA lead.

 F) Contractor Accountability & Governance

  • Lead a weekly planning challenge session with the Contractor Planner: review progress, critical path shifts, lookahead constraints, and mitigations; issue an action log.
  • Verify contractor monthly schedule updates align to the approved baseline and change orders; log deviations.
  • Ensure Punch List items are fed back into the Contractor schedule so all work is planned.

 G) Reporting & Communication

  • Produce a concise Weekly Schedule Report:
  • Last week: progress vs plan, key variances, critical path movement.
  • Next: top-10 activities, workfront readiness status, constraint closures due.
  • Risks & opportunities: quantified time exposure, mitigations with owners.
  • QA inspection forecast (rolling 6-week), resourcing gaps and proposals.
  • Decisions/escalations required this week.

 H) Data, Tools & Standards

  • Use P6 for analytics/oversight; define calendars, coding (Area/System/Discipline), version control, and a data dictionary.
  • Establish cut-off times (daily/weekly) for progress and reporting.
  • Keep all assumptions, mapping rules, and overrides auditable.
  • Escalation & Decision Support
  • Define thresholds for immediate escalation (e.g.,
